The church was founded in November 1990, when a group of like-minded families desired to establish an evangelical witness for Christ north of the river. The church was established with the advice and counsel of elders and pastors from other Grace churches and has sought to gather to worship the Lord Jesus Christ, to read and study the Bible as the Word of God, to sing, pray together and encourage one another as God enables.

The founding members adopted a constitution in March 1992, in which the principles and responsibilities of fellowship are set out.

Throughout the early years, it was the prayer of the church that God would enable the call and appointment of a full time elder to fulfill the role of pastor and teacher within the fellowship. Bruce Jenkins, coming from London Theological Seminary, responded to such a call in 1994, and has been in full time association with, and supported by, the church since 1995.

We have sought, and continue to seek, to evangelise the local community through the distribution of leaflets, evangelistic meetings and other opportunities as the Lord gives.

The membership has grown steadily, for which we thank God, and approximately 40 people meet on Sundays for worship.
