Abi Brown in Zambia

Abigail Brown is a teacher working in Lusaka, Zambia. Abi writes:

I am currently working in Lusaka, Zambia's capital city, at a place called Old MacDonalds farm. Our farm is home to 26 boys and 1 girl who are orphans or through circumstances out of their control have ended up living on the streets. Our aim is to help the boys complete their education or get them onto a training program so they can get a good job and support themselves in future. I am teaching a group of boys who don't go to school. Some of these boys have had problems in school finding it hard to learn and others have only recently come to stay with us so are not yet ready to go into school.

More recently Abi has started the Taonga School, which is growing as children from the surrounding area have started asking to come.

Taonga School

Taonga School: a short video of Taonga School, Lusaka, Zambia. This is a small school of around 40 pupils. The children come from very poor families unable to afford to pay for school.
