Ladies Bible Study

We are all busy with family and work, so why do we make time in our schedules to meet and study the Bible? When we read the Bible, it never fails to challenge, comfort, and instruct us. The women in the church that are able get together fortnightly to study the Bible together. More details from Claire at

Weekend away

For the last 4 years we have spent a weekend at Hebron Hall in South Wales. This has been a great opportunity for fun and enjoyment together. We have welcomed friends and visitors to join with us and have found this time to be a good way to build deeper friendships with one another. Central to each weekend has been the bible teaching which we have received from our visiting speakers.

In 2012 we will be staying at the Moorlands Bible College in Bournemouth when the speaker will be John Benton.

Day of Prayer and Fasting

As an expression of our dependence on God, and in order to bring to Him the requests we have for matters that particularly concern us as a church, we have an annual day of prayer and fasting.

Youth conference

For many years the church organized its own day conference for young people in the later years of school, and students in university. Its purpose was to provide opportunity for young people, often in small churches, to meet up with other Christians of their own age.

In 2012 we are planning to restart this event. Hugh Collier has been invited to be the speaker. The date is yet to be finalised.

Food of the World

There are many nationalities in our church, including British, South African, Australian, Ethiopian, and American. It has become a regular event each autumn to get together on a Saturday evening to eat a wide variety of food dishes from around the world. We enjoy the food and the company and hear a short message from the Bible. We welcome friends and visitors to join with us.

Children's Easter and Christmas parties

On a Saturday afternoon at Easter time and in December the children and their friends enjoy fun, food and games at their Easter and Christmas parties. There are short talks explaining the meaning of Easter and the message of Christmas. Parents are normally present and are very welcome.

Carol services

On the Sunday before Christmas we meet to sing carols and hear about the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is followed by refreshments.

European Missionary Fellowship lectures

Since 1999 Bruce Jenkins has taught an annual block of lectures to the international students attending the School of Biblical Studies. Bruce has taught two subjects: the “Doctrine of the Last things”, and the “Doctrine of Scripture”.
